The new Land Rover Defender is said to be launched towards the back end of 2019 and beginning of 2020. Why has it been so long since the last Defender was built back and what is expected of the new Defender.

It’s now moving past the third year since Land Rover decided to pull the plug on the world renown Land Rover Defender which marked an era since 1948 when it was first produced for the world let alone just the 4x4 enthusiast. Speaking with JLR HQ based in Gaydon Coventry it was confirmed that since the first production of the Land Rover Defender back in 1948 they have built over two million Defenders. The very first Launch was at the Amsterdam Motor Show back in 1948 where the vehicle was designed against its rival the US Army Jeep having a big role during the War. Moving forward today, Land Rover had said it always planned to replace the old style Defender with a more modern look but there main concern was the legislation over safety concerns relating to the increased volume of road users.

The New Land Rover Defender has been said to be launched towards the end of 2019 and beginning of 2020 which would put the last built Defender four years prior. If you have driven around the Warwickshire area of the country you may have had the opportunity to see the new prototype Defender with its all over catalogue appearance. It has been said there will be a big change from the previous Defender which brings concerns to the farming industry which due to farming poll the industry were happy with the predecessor Defender 90 and 110 models.
